Beauty Essentials for Camping

Maybe it’s time for your long-cherished camping trip, or the annual retreat arranged by the company you work for (which may not sound like camping at all!).

When stranded in the backcountry with over dozens of friends or coworkers, you cannot help getting concerned about the limited opportunities of hot showers apart from a reliable wi-fi connection. And besides the urge to keep the bugs away from the bunk, you will also want some beauty essentials in your vicinity to avoid getting bothered by a sudden disheveled appearance.

Here I have compiled a bunch of beauty essentials for camping that you hardly can do without. So let’s find out what to pack before setting out for the perfect glamping!

1. Carry-bag

Beauty Essentials Carrying Bag

Wherever you will be going out to camping, there’s little chance that you will be able to make space for your stuff to rest on. It’s unlikely even with the facility of a spacious washroom. It can disrupt the peace of your mind by wetting up things.

To make sure you don’t retch-up yourself, get a convenient plastic makeup bag. Also, you’ll want it to be see-through too to ensure you can get your hand on the contents with ease.

You’ll like the compact Keokee Small Clear Cosmetic Cases, the separate small-sized bags for each of your essentials. Or you can pick Boao Portable Clear Makeup bags if storing all the stuff in one place is your preference.

2. Multipurpose Makeup Gear

Since the caravan, RV, or minivan you are going to camp with will be jampacked with a bunch of tents, coolers, toiletries, and of course, your friends; you may confuse or vex yourself with the thought of compromising a lot of essential makeup gears.

So you’ll be wise to double up all the prods you’ll be taking with you. Carry lipsticks that would serve both your lips and cheeks, an eyeliner that also suits as a brow pencil, and so forth.

e.l.f. Velvet provides a range of such solutions, which I love adding glows to my lips and cheeks with. And the Eye and Brow Maestro from Giorgio Armani does an excellent job for me, tripling up as an eyeliner, brow filler, and eyeshadow.

And always let your natural charm wing its way through the outdoor air. That being said, avoid adding additional sparkles.

3. Waterproof Mascara

Waterproof Mascara

If your potential campsite has a lake by its side, you can expect those unexpected friendly pushes at least once during your trip. Where it can entail a series of funny captures, it may make your eyes of those of raccoons all of a sudden.

So make sure you don’t give it a chance. Use a waterproof mascara to coat your lashes with.

Dior Volume Effect Waterproof Mascara is undoubtedly my top choice, which is also referred to by many synchronized swimmers as “unyielding to water.”

4. Facial Wipes

Don’t even think about spending the whole night without a wash and your face sitting with all the sweat and grime inside the pores.

And you’ll be wise not to flounder with a flashlight while removing the makeup with a makeup remover and cotton balls. Ease it down altogether using facial wipes.

I tend to use up every single one from a pack of Micellar Simple Facial Wipes since I love the way it pulls out the gunks off my face without the need of any additional liquid. It saves the hassle of carrying makeup removers.

5. Sunscreen and Lip Balm

Traveling in Sunlight

Whenever and wherever you camp, when there is sunlight up above your head, ensuring sun safety becomes a calling than a mere luxury.  Be sure you have packed at least SPF 30 for both your face and body and keep adding layers with it every once in a while.

I like the Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Oxide Sunscreen, for the dry-touch lenitive upshot it provides.

You are going to see out the entirety of the trip outdoors. So also make sure you’ve got a lip balm to soothe your lips with. All these years, I have found nothing that hurts more than sunburnt lips during a tour.

However, I was able to overturn those days, thanks to the COOLA Organic Liplux that has been aiding my lips from my very first use; you may want to give it a try as well.

6. Dry Shampoo and Detangler

I never like the idea of sticking my hair around my head, herding it up with babushkas. After all, why all these vacation plans, if you can’t flaunt your lovely tresses.

And to make sure you can flash them as beautifully as they are, you’ll want them to be stick-straight unless you want to regret not having them brushed for days.

So you cannot but befriend a dry shampoo accompanied by a detangling brush.

Dove’s Refresh+Care Dry Shampoo is worth mentioning here, which I love for its suitability to every hair color and texture.

And to make sure you have no fuss keeping your tresses in place firmly, you can go for Tangle Teezer. It’s the detangler you’ll love for the much-needed compactness it brings along with relaxing bristles. Despite the soft feel, the detangler is sturdy enough to ensure you can clean it thoroughly without the fear of breaking it.

7. Leave-in Hair Treatment

Bringing along a leave-in hair treatment conditioner for excursions is indeed an excellent idea to freshen up things by bits. Especially if your hair tends to form frizzes in so often, I think you must consider it seriously.

My sensitive hair gets kinky easily in such outings. And so I started applying the John Frieda Frizz Ease Conditioner after every shower, which proved to be a big help later on.

More so, since I’m in the habit of making separate sections of my hair after the application and leaving them for the whole night, I was overjoyed waking up with the smooth, natural curls.

8. Hair Straightener

One thing about us girls is that we never want to compromise the sleek, straight look of our hair, once we fall in love with it. No matter where we go traveling, we always tend to pack our hair straightener at any cost. The same goes for me, as I’m no exception.

The compact, cordless flat irons come in real handy in such situations providing you with that uncompromising lovely tresses on the go. But the battery is a vital concern with these cordless straighteners that tend to become empty after a few minutes of use. It results in an inconsistent temperature of the plates as well.

Thankfully, I could manage to overcome this issue since the day I started packing up the CHI Escape Cordless Straightening Hairstyling Iron when out on my trips.

It has cut off the annoyance regarding empty batteries with the car charger adapter it came with. It provides the option to charge up anytime using the car charger outlet.

9. Body Wash

Body Washing

It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? You definitely cannot sit out the chit-chat sessions, or the barbeque party late at night with your whole body covered with muddy grimes that you’ve caught at the swamp.

Since the urge of a wash-up may pop up anytime, you’ll need a good enough body wash to save the day. Let me share the products that worked perfectly during the excursions I had lately.

I loved the Softsoap Fresh and Glow Body Wash primarily for its bewitching fragrance. But its excellent capability of preventing exfoliations made me fall in love with it all the more. I also liked the Neutrogena Body Clear Acne Treatment, which provided me with a quick remedy to clogged gunk and potential acnes.

10. Deodorant

I feel like I don’t really need to explain why your deodorant should tag along with you in this hot and humid weather. The longer is your stay, the more strength you’ll want your deodorant to have. After all, you can’t ruin the fun your friends would be looking forward to when in your company.

I recommend going for the Degree Women Clinical Antiperspirant Deodorant. It gives you clinical protection with the ultra-strength formula they have developed especially for humid summer days and nights.

To me, the jasmine mix seemed to be the most adorable, which I used to apply before every bedtime during my last trip. And incredibly, it kept the entrancing fragrance all throughout the next day.

Final Say

Outings are what we crave to breathe some peaceful breaths at the wilderness, escaping from all the bustles. Meanwhile, we also tend to become apprehensive about the concerns regarding our appearances thinking of all the unknowns about campings.

Hopefully, this write-up will help you out during your pre-tour shopping not only for the perfect outing but also to bespeak the flawless you.

  1. Hello there,

I must admit that this piece of writing is incredible. I will be going camping next weekend and this article helped me to find all my beauty and hair essentials easily. It acted as a guide for me. Now I am all set with everything I need and ready to go for my camping trip.

In addition to your suggested items, I also included a few hair ties, a silk scarf, mosquito repellant, and a hair sunscreen in my carry bad. I mentioned them because I think it will help other girls who are going camping.

Nevertheless, I will be grateful for this writing.

Keep up the good work and keep educating us.

    Best of luck.

  2. Hello good people,

In one word- amazing. This piece of writing has all the information and items a camper should keep in mind before packing for the camping trip.

However, as much as I loved reading this article, I found some really inconsistency here. I think that a piece of bar soap would be a better choice than to carry a bottle of body wash. It might get leaked and spill all over your bag causing a mess. Moreover, a bottle of the body was would be more heavyweight than a piece of soap bar.

Then again, this is my personal opinion. You people are experts, you know better than me.

    • Dear Grace,

Thank you very much for your kind words. We appreciate our readers’ response.

Even though we are experts, your suggestion makes sense. A bar body soap would be an excellent choice. We are glad that you have shared your thoughts with us. Thanks for that.

But then again, there are high chances that a bar soap might slip off of your hand and get lost. But with a body wash, there are fewer possibilities of losing it.

We hope this would be helpful.

  3. Hi,

I have a question. I hope you would answer it. Why didn’t you suggest a curling iron alongside the straightening iron? My curious mind wants to know.

    • Dear Virginia,

Thank you very much for your question.

The reason we suggested a flat iron rather than a curling iron is because with flat iron you can create several versatile hairstyles including curls and waves. But with a curling iron, you are able to adorn your tresses only with curls and cannot straighten it. So, for most convenience, we suggested a flat iron for campers.

We hope this would answer your queries.
