1. Messy Pixie
The pixie haircut is a women’s hairstyle typically seen on women having the near-genuine boyish charm.
It suits short hair with the length varying between 1-3 inches.
The style mostly suits teens and women within the 20-30 age group.
Still, it’s a preferred hairstyle of many celebrities who’re in their 40’s.
The messy pixie is for women with round faces who are more into spikey looks.
You can either keep it one-length or may want to cut it much shorter on the sides or the back.
The style evolved into mass popularity in the mid-fifties when the charming short-haired actress Audrey Hepburn first deployed it in her movie-Roman Holiday.
And later on, the likes of supermodel Twiggy and actress Mia Farrow kept the style rolling throughout the ’60s.
In modern days, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Cara Delevingne are among celebrities who often adorn their round faces with messy pixies.
Since round faces boast fuller cheeks, “It adds height to your style like Ginnifer Goodwin’s, and it instantly helps propagate your facial profile,” according to stylist Olivia Flores, a pro educator of Amika.
She also suggests to “fake” thicker roots using a volumizing dry shampoo like Cake Beauty the Do-Gooder that will give your messy pixie an instant grip and lift with a lasting effect.
If you happen to be the tomboy-in-heart having a round face, the messy pixie hairstyle would be worth trying out to shake things up.

2. Cropped Pixie
While pixies are renowned for the striking looks, they provide short-haired women with round-faces, a sleek and prim appearance.
It’s a very practical hairstyle for round faces with a slightly angular jawline that requires less time and budget while it’s all the more expressive as well.
You might reckon Ginnifer Goodwin’s adopted prim look when she often used to experiment auburn hair on her cropped pixie.
Or maybe you’d like to try Michelle William’s one that looks pretty straightforward yet infallibly gorgeous for her round face.
Stylist Marjan is a great admirer of the cropped pixie.
She says, “A side-sweep in your front will keep this cut delicate, and the cropped sides and back will lengthen through your neck.
Either way, it’s great on your angular jawlines.”
And she recommends cropping both the back and the sides using the ‘scissor over a comb’ method for keeping the ends soft.

3. Pixie With Full Bangs
This form of pixie is made up of pointed layered short hair that takes a magical look when you top it off with bangs.
What makes this style unique is that it keeps you free of worries like detangling it in every once in a while, so long as you do it right in the first place.
And needless to say, it graces your round face regardless of the shape of your forehead.
Remember Anne Hathaway’s boyish days a few years back? She knew exactly what looks great on her.
The deftly worked out pointed bangs pretty much gave her the heart-shaped face that she desired.
And when you look at the choppy version of this style on Viola Davis’s face, where she literally cut her face in half, you know how astute the move is.
The full bangs covered up her big forehead, flaunting the tremendous facial features of her round face instead.
The adaption to this style will wonderfully benefit round chubby faces to drive the attention away as well.
Here’s a pro-tip from Ulta Beauty’s Ounanian.
She suggests rubbing and raking up a bit of hair paste for preparation; Jack Black Clay Pomade, for instance, which is rich in botanical extracts and natural oils.
“You can achieve a stunning piece-y finish by gently dabbing it through your hair ends,” she adds.
4. Blunt Bob
Short hair and Bob-cut have long been an unbreakable combo, whenever it came to the classic hairstyle.
A typical bob is cut between the ear tips or the length below it, which wags well above the shoulder line.
The style, never in a lifetime, lost its appeal and that too among women from every possible age group.
The blunt bobs are known for the most classic looks that involve a primmer and easier to maintain hair shafts.
This easy-to-maintain short haircut is more suited for those women in their middle age, say over 50 or over 60 years.
The blunts that Cameron Diaz or Drew Barrymore wear can be translated into the most impressive short hairstyle in this regard.
Stylists like Ounanian and Gabrielle refer it to as the epitome of chic, lowly side-parting hair.
They recommend working on slight touch-ups on the mid-section of your short hair with a flat iron to give it a curvy look for achieving the style.

5. Soft Tousled Bob
While soft curls suit almost every hair type out there, it brings an additional flattering on short hair.
More specifically, when you cut it for a bob around your round cheeks.
The style is perfect for women in the age group of 20-40 years.
Take a look at Miranda Kerr’s tousled bobs on her round face.
Her stylist Papanikolas suggests keeping the curls below your chin line for adding width around the right places.
And he also recommends Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray or similar stronghold sprays for longer-lasting effects.
6. Razor Cut Bob
Razor cut bobs look sleek and sharp, and it lucidly adds a unique dimension of elegance to the appearance of short-haired women having a round face.
No matter you like it middle-parted or parted on one side, the hairstyle matches them both to give you the most confident “Party look”.
While it’s mostly preferred by teens and girls in their twenties, many celebrities in their late thirties love to wear it in various contexts.
Most notably among them is Evan Rachel Wood, whose striking razor ends looks breathtaking every time she appears on both on and off-screen.
And you might well remember the likes of prim looking Irina Shayk and Bella Hadid from last year.
“It’s essential to focus on what you’re trying to accentuate,” stylist Reyman was saying about achieving the sleekness of razor-cut bobs like Bella Hadid.
“If it’s cut below the chin line, it will naturally draw your eyes downward and toward your jawline.”
7. Mild Wave Bob
This is probably the bob that has been adopted so many times by Hollywood celebrities that many prefer calling it the “Drama Cut.”
For short, thin hair that lacks volume, the mild waves can be suitable options for a round face.
And the style is widely admired for its universal suitability across women from all age groups.
The likes of Kaia Gerber and her stylist Guido Palau, suggest using a thicker-barreled curling iron for mere touchups to achieve mild waves on you bobs.
Emma Stone, Keira Knightley are among some notable names, who have been gracing this hairstyle bossing around Hollywood with confidence.
And this style can be an excellent choice if you have a double chin.
According to stylist Cervando Maldonado, you may better off with a bit more added volume like Kirsten Dunst if that’s the case for you.
More so, it can well be the perfect choice for women with glasses too.
8. Graduated Bob
Graduated bobs are tapered from the back while still containing layers.
It adds movement and dimension to your hair to make a round face look all the livelier and more glamorous.
It’s more suited for women aged over forty.
The elegant bounces on Victoria Beckham’s graduated bob will give you some idea.
It matches just perfectly with her round, tender face.
And you may well reckon Taylor Swift’s enchanting look when she ditched her tousles for a bit fuller graduated bob.
Stylist Reyman says, “The graduated bob precisely matches those wanting a casual and more low-maintenance style.
It retains your below-chin length of hair, but it does cut the back a tad shorter.”
He adds, “Get your stylist to taper the hair from slightly down the nape for the natural look on both straight and wavy hair.”
9. Lob With Full Bang
This haircut is a hairstyle is for short hair that tends to be slightly on the longer side with the ends just above the shoulder line.
It’s considered particularly ideal for those women who like to make their face look less round.
Both sleek and messy bangs have been gracing the appearance of short-haired celebrities for decades.
And lobbed hair with full bangs is the latest edition of this popular hairstyle that is easily achieved by splaying the sectioned-out hair on the sideways of your round chin.
You may just want to play along with the lobs like Mila Kunis, whose bangs are cut through the sides and the back of her espresso bob.
It balances out the body of the waves and the bounce of the waves.
She also has her fringes layered into chunks that frame her eyes to give her a striking look.
Or maybe you’d like to go as carefree as Game of Throne’s Maisie Williams, who prefers to leave her lobs bouncing by her fuller round cheeks.
It’s especially ideal for those with short hair, who like to adapt to a bit messier lobs but not for those with hair shorter than ear-level.
Here’s what well-renowned celebrity hairstylist Jon Reyman has to say about fully-lobbed bangs-
“Mila Kunis has got the airiness in her bangs. It boosts the choppy bangs to easily grow out as well.
It’s undoubtedly an effortless style that anyone can achieve through combing out and sectioning. It looks more purposeful nonetheless.”
10. Side Swept Lob
Just as the name goes, you can simplistically achieve this style by sweeping them sideways if your hair manages to go down the length of your chin.
It’s mostly an adapted style for women in their twenties and thirties.
Take note from Selena Gomez, who draws all the attention away from her round face with this hairstyle while her lower chin draws down her eyes to elongate.
Natalie Portman’s nonchalant blondes give this tremendous outcome more credence who has mastered the look with her slightly longer shafts.
So, what are the expert tips for this haircut?
Justine Marjan says, “Make sure your stylist uses a facial feature of yours as a guide for determining the parts.”
While saying this, she had marked the arch of the eyebrow or the iris to be the precise gauge.
“Ask for hair sweeps anywhere down an inch below the chin, before the collarbone, of course.
It helps the layers to pivot towards the ends of your hair while much less around the cheeks,” she goes on saying.
According to Marjan, it’s also one of the most pragmatic short hairstyles for women with round faces aged over 30 or 40.
11. Textured Lob
Those whose hair thickness is somewhere between medium and coarse, a one-length textured lob can ideally be a solution for their round face.
Especially for those not-too-short and not-too-long hair lengths.
It’s kept a few inches down the chin for making a round face look longer.
Women of all ages can adapt to this hairstyle to look perfect in a wide range of contexts.
You may have noticed how Jennifer Lawrence has been keeping her swept across bangs for creating angles on her round face.
It has quite been her signature look for the past couple of years.
The one that Lucy Hale has got is almost an identical cut.
The only difference is she likes keeping the ends inward while Jennifer prefers them flaunting outward.
“It’s the modern version of Debby lob,” remarks hairstylist Gareth Bromell.
He adds, “If you like to get this effortlessly undone hairstyle, I would recommend using the Salty Dog salt spray by Evo, for it’ll help you maintain a dryer texture for the ultimate suitability.”
12. Tapered Afro
For the round faces with natural African American curls, the tapered afro hairdo can be an ideal option.
Especially when you don’t want to part with the hair length.
This conservative frohawk slightly tapers your sideways to create a smooth transition that direct the eyes toward your long, textured locks.
Adding a bit of hair color makes your hairstyle pop.
Stylist Reyman is a particular fan of Taraji Henson’s who kept her sides narrow, leaving the heights on top.
He says, “It helps her create an appearance that is something less wide.”
And he suggests using a hydrating curl cream like Moroccanoil Curl Defining Cream for both definition and a perfect moisture level.
On a Final Note
All the hairstyles I’ve discussed above are pretty much the baselines of short haircuts for round faces.
Dozens of variations can evolve from them.

I would like to ask you guys who are you to decide which hairstyle is appropriate for which age group? Why are you, age-shaming women? Ellen DeGeneres made the pixie famous and she is over 60 years old. And you are stating that this hairstyle is for only girls of 20-30 years.
I am overly disgusted and dishearten. Not because you have put on the wrong information but because of your age-shaming behavior.
Never coming back again.

I came here to share my experience with all the girls here. I have a round face and thick but straight hair. I chopped off my manes into the Razor Cut Bob and in must say it changed the way I look for better. This amazing hairstyle added edge and sharpness to my face and helped me to achieve a more “boss lady” like 7an aura. You can try this hairstyle if you are willing to cut your manes such short.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. We are sure that this will help our readers in some way or the other.
