1. Coconut Milk Straightening, Smoothing Cream

Coconut Milk

This is an amazing hair straightening cream to remove frizziness from your unruly tresses and make them super luscious and straight.

Coconut milk is extremely rich in fatty acids, saturated fats and Vitamin E [1] nourishes and hydrates hair locks to not only make them soft and silky but also fight frizz and flyaways for smoother tresses.

On the other hand, Vitamin C and citric acid in the lemon juice have a straightening effect and help to uncoil your manes effortlessly for a sleeker outlook.

You Will Need

  • ¼ Cup of Coconut Milk (You can use the So Delicious Dairy-Free Organic Coconut milk or make your own)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice

How to Make

  • In a bowl, pour the coconut milk and lemon juice.
  • Mix them well until they form a creamy texture.
  • Refrigerate the mix overnight or for at least 8 hours.
  • In the morning, mix it again before applying it to your hair.
  • Now, using your hand, apply this cream all over your manes- from roots to the tips.
  • Secure your tresses inside a shower cap for 30 minutes before washing them off with a mild shampoo.

2. Gelatin Hair Cream

Gelatin Hair Cream

Making this gelatin hair cream is a bit complex but it’s worth the effort, especially if you have curly and coily hair.

When the gelatin in this cream dries up, it has an insanely straightening effect on your hair so much so that you would ditch your other straightening methods immediately.

Moreover, this magic ingredient can seal in moisture and nourishment and fight frizz actively to result in silky, shiny gorgeous tresses every time you use it.

You Will Need

  • A cup of Coconut Milk
  • 2 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil (we prefer the Vita Coco Organic Virgin Coconut Oil)
  • 2 Tablespoon of unflavored Gelatin Powder
  • 2 Tablespoon of Cornflower
  • 2 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoon of Honey

How to Make

  • Place a pan over low heat and add coconut oil and coconut milk.
  • Stir them well to mix properly.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the gelatin and cornflower with a little bit of water.
  • Stir until they are dissolved.
  • Now, pour the gelatin mixture into the oil mixture on the stove.
  • Keep on stirring until all the ingredients form a cream-like consistency.
  • Then, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool down for a few minutes.
  • Add the lemon juice and honey and mix well before applying it to your hair locks.
  • Leave it for 30 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. DO NOT shampoo.

3. Eggs and Olive Oil Mix

Eggs and Olive Oil

Eggs are packed with protein and fatty acids [3] that boost the keratin structure of the hair shaft.

Because they have a positive effect on the keratin, eggs not only help to strengthen the hair roots but also play a part in straightening them effortlessly to give you a celebrity-like look.

When these amazing benefits of egg marry with the super moisturizing effects of olive oil, the mask/cream is a bomb.

It will make your tresses silky, smooth, and straight while keeping dryness and frizziness at arm’s length.

You Will Need

  • 2 Whole Eggs
  • 3 Tablespoon of Olive Oil (we recommend the Renewalize USDA Certified Organic Olive Oil)

How to Make

  • Whisk the eggs with olive oil lightly to make a thick paste. If you don’t like the smell of eggs, you can add a drop of your favorite essential oil to suppress the odor.
  • Apply the mixture evenly to your manes.
  • Leave it for 20 minutes before washing your manes with a mild sulfate-free shampoo (try the OGX Ever-Straightening + Brazilian Keratin Therapy Shampoo for better straightening effect)

4. Milk and Honey Mix

Honey, being a natural humectant, provides an immense amount of moisturization and hydration to the hair strands [4].

On the other hand, milk (containing fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals) has natural straightening agents that straighten hair effectively and precisely.

And when you mix these two natural ingredients, it nourishes, strengthens and straightens your unruly hair locks so that you can enjoy silky, smooth, straighter tresses naturally, without even putting on any heat.

You Will Need

  • ¼ Cup of Organic Milk
  • 2 Tablespoon of Honey

How to Make

  • Pour milk and honey in a bottle and close the cap tightly.
  • Shake the bottle well to mix the ingredients.
  • Then, apply the mixture evenly to all your hair locks and cover them with a shower cap.
  • Let it sit for 2 hours before washing off with a mild shampoo.

5. Banana, Curd, and Olive Oil Cream

Banana Curd and Olive Oil Cream

Curd [5] is a natural source of fatty acids, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, iron, phosphorus, lactic acid, calcium, cholesterol, and sodium.

All the components needed to straighten and strengthen hair from the roots to the tips.

The lactic acid and vitamin C remove excess dirt and oil from the cuticle making them smooth and flat which in turn makes the hair strands look frizz-free and straight.

Additionally, the banana and olive oil hydrate the tresses so that you manes turn out soft, silky and shiny after using this magical cream.

You Will Need

  • 2 Ripe Bananas
  • 2 Tablespoon of Sour Curd
  • 2 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoon of Honey

How to Make

  • Remove the skin of the bananas and put them in a bowl.
  • Using a fork, mash them until there are no lumps left.
  • Now, add curd, olive oil, and honey to the mashed bananas and mix them well.
  • Apply the mixture to your hair and leave it on for about 30 minutes.
  • Rinse off with cold water.

Since in this way it takes time and energy. So, if you are in a hurry, you can purchase hair straightening cream from the online market very easily.

  1. Hi there,

I am extremely amazed by this piece of writing. It is evident that you have researched a lot and took help from your kitchen before penning down this incredible piece of writing. I loved reading it thoroughly.

You have described every step of making different types of hair straightening cream so precisely that even a “not so pro” like me can also make them easily for a natural yet effective hair straightening solution.

Also, I loved the fact that you used bold words to emphasize some facts. From this, it is very easy to understand that it is totally prohibited.

Very nicely put together. It has excellent flow with a very easy to understand approach.

    Keep it up.

I wish you all the best.

  2. Hello people,

First thing first, there is no denying that this is an excellent, well-penned down article with just the right information and extreme clarity. I don’t see any clumsiness or any rush in the writing. In one word I just loved it. You have chosen all the ingredients to make the straightening cream very intelligently- all of them are very easy to get and are also not expensive. I admire the practicality of the article.

Ok, now I have a question. In the coconut milk straightening cream section, you have suggested washing the tresses with a mild shampoo after 30 minutes of putting the mask. I would like to know if I don’t wash the cream, would there be any problem or not.

I would love to know your thoughts on this.

    Thanks in advance.

    • Dear Patricia,

First of all, thank you very much for your kind and sweet words. We are ecstatic with your response.

Secondly, that’s a very interesting question that you have asked. When you refrigerate the coconut milk, it hardens a little bit. Even after putting on the manes, it doesn’t melt as smoothly as coconut oil. It clings on the hair strands like small white particles. If you don’t wash this off, the frozen milk particle will remain in the hair making it look unpleasant.

We hope this would help you to understand better.
